Meet your Therapist
My name is Annalisa, I’m originally from Italy and I’ve been living in the UK since 2005. I moved to Northern Ireland to undertake a PhD at QUB and decided to establish myself in this beautiful place.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, trained in Psychodynamic Therapy (focusing on unconscious processes as they are manifested in our behaviour pattern), BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (focusing on neuroplasticity), Somatic Therapy (focusing on the underlying physical sensations of psychological states) and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (focusing on the nervous system’s response to stimuli).
My unique skillset allows me to work in a way that brings together the emotional, psychological, behavioural, physiological and soulistic aspects within a person, with an awareness of the sociocultural and interpersonal dynamics surrounding them.
I specialise in Trauma Healing, Anxiety and Nervous System Regulation, and my work is grounded in Neuroscience, Neuroplasticity and Polyvagal Theory.
Your bodymind is a powerful tool and, together, we can harness that power to create the change you want and live your best life.
I deeply care about developing an authentic relationship with the people I work with, as I’m convinced that this is the key ingredient for healing and growth. My whole practice is always guided by the experience and the needs of the person I’m working with, and grounded in the knowledge that mind and body are fully united in determining our wellness.
I carry full professional liability insurance. I work both in person (Belfast or Lisburn) and Online.
I am insured for Psychotherapy & Somatics/Yoga practice by Towergate Insurance.
I am a Registered Advanced Practitioner member of the BWRT Institute and member of the NCIP.
It can be really hard when…
We feel that something is in the way to truly living life and experiencing joy.
Emotional or physical pain make it hard to enjoy the present moment.
We are stuck in unhealthy patterns, and change feels so far away.
That feeling of “not good enough” spreads through our days, actions, relationships.
We realise we aren’t expressing our authentic self, because it’s painful to do so.
If you find yourself in any of these statements, I want you to know there is hope!
MY MISSION: CREATE A SAFE SPACE WHERE ALL PEOPLE CAN FLOURISH.
Both in Therapy, Somatic Movement, and any work we’ll do together, we’ll spend time understanding what you’re experiencing and why. We are naturally curious creature, and we deserve understanding, a deeper understanding of self, so that when we start making changes that improve our life, they’ll stick.
I have a holistic, integrative approach to my practice, always guided by the needs and experience of the person I am working with, and grounded in the knowledge that mind and body are fully united in determining our wellness.
When I'm not teaching or practising Yoga, or in a psychotherapy session, I like to learn BJJ, have coffee with friends, take long walks at the beach and I love to nap!
